ReplyDeletePlayed with a group once after I read, reread, and made several characters so I knew how to explain it. I really can't remember how I got my brother and three other friends through character gen. Anyways, started in a spacer bar and it was like thirty seconds before the body pistols came out and we got to try the combat system. I rember we had a blast running an hour of combat and... that was it. Never played again.
These days I would just use some rules lite system and pilfer Space Opera for inspiration.
I purchased it back in high school (mid eighties) but we never played it. I loved the Shedlons star ship guide but the rules were too difficult or not enough interest. We played just about everything else. I think there is value in the suppliments...but not the boxed set.
