Tonight, i give away one of the reasons that i daily make time to read old magazines.
This side trek was something i discovered when i was young. Huddled in a basement. With just a chalk board and a handful of dice. A gaming group got ready to fight a white dragon. They loaded up on magic. Sought out magic swords and potions and headed on adventure on the word of a sheep **cker.
They entered a cave. Got crushed by rocks and killed by a fire ball.
It was glorious.
Since that day i have done it 3 more times to great affect and much adventure. One group helped him get revenge on his sibling. Then built a little kingdom around a dragon and his wish for power and revenge.
That there is reason enough to spend a little time each day. Reading a magazine older than most of my players.
