Last night we had an interesting conversation, as we often do. And part of it was the tribal history of the Swiss. Swiss history is rather interesting. From mercenary armies that ravaged the land for the highest bidder. To an equally militant view of neutrality.
As with all things Germanic, Frank Falkenberg was a great source of history and culture. He introduced us to the Swiss nation pastime of grown men rolling in the mud together. It does look rather hard core. And this particular rabbit hole led to other super Swiss sporting events.
It's good to keep the local pastimes in mind when running a D&D game. Who knows when your party's fighter will get the chance to wrestle or throw stones for fame and glory. Turning otherwise hostile townsfolk into adoring admirers.
